In this work a new mechanical guiding concept is developed for a micro driving mechanism. It includes simulations und tests. The aim is the integration of the driving mechanism in the measuring arm of a hand-held device based on white light interferometry. Different types of guides are discussed and analyzed. Promising is a setup based on leaf springs, which is examined with regard to function and requirements and characterized. Based on that a new guide concept is thought up and is according to the requirements further adapted and improved. In the new guiding concept feather wires serve as the guide elements which are dimensioned in the working progress. Another determining aspect is the arrangement of the wires. Different orders are simulated and the best one is followed up after an assessment. After the theoretical examination and interpretation of the new guide concept a realization of that and an integration occurs in form of a test setup to verify the functionality with the help of practical tests and to characterize the properties. All in all the functionality of the guiding setup is proved, indeed a few problems appear, so that the leaf wire guiding is the first choice in the following working progress.
