Within this paper a concept is build for the election of solution’s
principles for actuatorsduring the early developing process. The goal is
not to find the optimal solution, but to createa clear quantity of
principles for solution.To be able to make a comparison, the requirements
for the actuator are determined andclassified. After the classification,
the requirements are subdivided into description values,which describe the
fundamental characteristics and properties of an actuator. The
conceptualformulation then can be classified by the qualitative description
values. By describing theenergy transformation, further criteria are found
for the bordering of the solution space usingqualitative description
values.Since the elimination process has the character of multi-criteria or
pareto-optimization,specifically parameters also can be determined by
combination of describing values. Throughthat the solution space is reduced
and therefore the elimination is made easier. Theelimination is made
through the comparison of pareto-quantities, which are deduced
fromparameters of the solution’s principles and from the requirements of
the derived solution area.Afterwards the concept is tested with examples of
use.
